Playing Around the House

I am so excited right now because I am going to have my little brother at our place. He still has to work for 2 weeks at Tong Tong Fair in the Hague, after that we will play tourist together πŸ™‚ I cannot wait to have him over here! Meanwhile the laziness is taking me over, and kinda procrastinating some house chores. Yes, we have a long weekend now and I am loving it. Here are some objects I capture around the house πŸ™‚

Perfect Time for Cuddling

Hello there,

I have had a nice weekend. Started off with a workshop for young entrepreneurs on a Thursday afternoon. It is located in Amsterdam, I took a half day off so I could attend the workshop together with J. It was really fun, we met different kind of people and backgrounds. But all of us we had our dreams, and we were idealists. We wanted to contribute something good to the world with our business ideas.

J is an idea machine, he always has creative ideas and sometimes good too! Mine is not really a profit generating business but I would say, I would really love to make it come true someday. I cannot tell you much, but a part of it is a thing I am passionate about and another part is what I want people to be more aware of. It is always nice to meet other idealists and steal others’ creative minds. I have been to this kind of event more often than J, but this time it was more of making your ideas a bit real by discussing it with others, and write it down by simply following entrepreneurship steps to start off our own business.

And on Friday I went out with a dear friend of mine and went for a dinner in the city with her, stuffed myself with delicious pasta at Vapiano πŸ™‚ and spent the evening catching up with tiramisu on the side! And on Saturday J, my in-laws and I celebrated my father in-law’s late birthday dinner at an amazing all-you-can-eat Japanese/Thai/Chinese restaurant across our apartment. We cannot stop telling people we know how good this restaurant is! In case you are around the city where we live, please take a look at Judo. They have fresh sushi and delicious Chinese and Thai food. We’ve had such a cozy evening and went home with our big tummies. And on Sunday J and I went swimming at our local public swimming pool. Sundays are our swimming day, we usually walk together with our sport bags on our shoulders to the swimming pool and chat on the way there and back.Β  Yesterday we broke our own records. J swam 40 laps in 20 minutes, and me…errr, I swam 15 laps in 2o minutes hahaha! See, how sporty I am? Anyhow, we were proud of ourselves though πŸ™‚ I love our Sunday swims. Do you have any activities you usually do with your hubby/partner too? It can be a small thing but it is always cozy and sweet when you do it together.

Oh my, there are many exciting and fun events coming up. There will be Sinterklaas party, epic Christmas party from work and of course long holiday! πŸ˜€ I am pretty excited with this year’s festivities. I am no longer occupied by wedding planning or whatsoever! Nada πŸ˜€ … Jeez, and I just realize that this year goes utterly fast. It seems that it is just last month that we got married at the city hall.. and I can barely catch up with all the things happened after….

last month’s traditional wedding reception

J and I spend a lot of times snuggling on the couch and watching TV series lately. The weather is very conducive to snuggle, with heater on, candles, cups of hot coffee, and two spoiled cats beside us (or on our laps when they are in the good mood). It is the best thing in the world, I guess. Be at home, while it’s cold outside. Cuddled up with your cats and husband in a warm house, safe and sound…I cannot stop saying how gezellig it is up here now! πŸ™‚ I hope you are having good times too wherever you are now, and spread the love! xxx

Chasing Shadow

Just another post about my silly cat, Rooie. I think I played chasing shadow like more than an hour with Rooie, I kinda fool him with my finger’s shadow on the wall and he chased the shadow like a mad cat! It was fun, and after that he got reaaally tired and joined his older “brother”Β  πŸ™‚ on the couch. What a life.

Tjakra the older cat, is slightly brighter than Rooie, more observant and over thinking, snob and a very clean cat. Rooie is 2 years younger than Tjakra and he’s really playful but timid, dumb and super innocent. If there’s some mess in the house we immediately know, OK Tjakra did this. He is such a demanding cat, if my husband forgets to clean their litter he will piss around the house or acting out! Or if his water gets warm he will meow like there is no tomorrow. Rooie is a chill cat compares to Tjakra. He will eat what is served, never complains, he just wants to be loved and plays. They have totally different characters and we love them πŸ˜€ and they are also very sweet to each other.

Dahlia is one of my favorite flowers (I have a lot of favorite flowers though hehehe)..but I never bought fresh red dahlias thus when I saw red dahlias I had to buy them. And look, how pretty and daring they are!

Meanwhile, I hope you like this music from a new Dutch singer Qeaux Qeaux Jones. Her new album will be released next month (finally!) Alright, I am wishing you a lovely Sunday!

Old Pics #1

I was just cleaning up some folders in my laptop, and I stumbled upon old pictures…Whooaaa, memories!! sweet ones.

1. My Au Pair journey in Germany was memorable. I will never forget this period of my life. I got the chance to be independent by living abroad for a year and lived in with a family, learned a new culture and also met new people. This picture was taken in my first summer abroad in 2005! Together with a neighbor girl (on my left side), Kristina. She was super nice, the first girl I met when I just moved there and immediately took me under her wings. I was welcomed warmly by her family… Her mother, Frau H. was such a lovely lady and I was always welcomed there whenever I needed a quiet moment. Then we would sip tea (she loved to make peppermint + camomile tea) in the kitchen. The other 3 girls were her foreign girlfriends. Senka from Bosnia, Nadja and Masha from Belarus. The pic was taken during an event called Strassenfest (bloc party). Seriously, I met such great people during my stay in Germany. I guess that is why I always feel Germany like my second (or 3rd) home whenever I am there.

2. My first holiday to Spain! Here I was tasting Cocido MadrileΓ±o ..a traditional chickpea-based stew from Madrid. Oh my it was soooo goodddd!! I think if I remember it correctly, our tummies were about to explode, but could not helping ourselves to eat it more and more..and in the end, we did not finish it. Moreover, it was such a perfect summer evening. It was warm, love was in the air and we had a bliss. We definitely will come back to Spain someday. Sevilla is definitely one ofΒ  the cities in “next cities in Spain list we need to visit” !

3. Ahh…Little Tjakra and his brother, Naru on J’s lap. Naru died not long after this picture was taken 😦

Hiks..I now get teary eyes from the last picture. Well, have a fabulous week friends!

Happy Images

A very cute AT’s video about “My Favorite Thing”. I would describe my cats in front of people this passionately too. Exactly like he does in the video.

I am pretty excited to have a 10 day-break. Just to get my holiday spirit going, some pictures of some activities I would like to do.

Β We will be admiring our first (jade-gold coloured) Christmas tree / Sitting in a gezellig cafe and just watching people come and go (Albert Cuyp)

Rooie, our own red tabby kitty..isn’t he adorable (and grumpy looking of course) ?
